BOMA BESt Level 3 certification is given to buildings that meet all of BOMA Go Green Best Practices and by scoring between 80-89% in the Go Green Plus assessment.  Level 2 is for buildings that score between 70-79%. 

Jawl Properties Named 2009 Energy Champion

Jawl Properties was awarded BC Hydro’s Power Smart Energy Champion for 2009 at a ceremony in Vancouver May 26. This award recognizes Jawl Properties commitment to reducing energy use in its buildings through both physical upgrades and an intensive behavioral conservation education program for tenants. The BC Hydro Energy Champion Award recognizes professionals who have done an outstanding job at making conservation a reality in their workplaces. The tools of their trade are everything from technical initiatives to employee awareness campaigns. Energy Champions work every day to achieve energy savings and to propel their organizations toward ongoing energy excellence.

In addition to the Energy Champion Award, Jawl Properties was congratulated at the Power Smart Excellence Awards ceremony for being one of three finalists for two other BC Hydro awards:

Energy Conservation Commitment – recognizing organizations who take their commitment to energy efficiency to the next level, beyond one-off projects to a more comprehensive approach to energy management resulting in increasingly affecting every aspect of how they do business.

Workplace Conservation Leadership – recognizes individuals or teams who have become true conservation ambassadors. Their ongoing efforts to educate and encourage have made a difference, bringing about lasting cultural change within their respective organizations.

While Jawl Properties is honoured to receive the Energy Champion award and to be finalists in the Energy Conservation Commitment and Workplace Conservation Leadership categories, this recognition could not have been achieved without the cooperation and help of our tenant partners and Tenant Energy Awareness Champions. Together we can Go for Green and Be the Change needed to create a more sustainable environment.
